(Trenton, NJ) -- The State of New Jersey is dropping its appeal against the legalization of gay marriage. At midnight, cities around the state began performing same-sex weddings following a state Supreme Court ruling. The state was set to appeal the ruling but Governor Chris Christie has asked the acting attorney general to withdraw it. A recent court decision allowed the marriages to take place while the appeal process played out.
