The landlord who set fire to many of his properties over the past 20 years in Muskegon Heights, Norton Shores and Grand Haven was sent to prison for the rest of his life.

Gerald Singer, from Muskegon, is 74 and was convicted of the long series of arsons to collect insurance money.

He was brought down in federal court, where his attempt to hide that money from the IRS has him sent to prison for both tax and mail fraud.

He was also ordered to pay more than $650,000 to his victims.
