Muskegon Heights Police now say that the man who died on his motorcycle last week on Peck Street was chasing a car thief, but he was shot, too.

26-year old Jacob Rameau died last Thursday, around 2 a.m., while chasing down his brother's stolen car.

What the police do not know yet is if he was shot before or after the motorcycle wreck.

The crime remains up-solved while Heights police get help from Michigan State Police detectives.  Both ask for any tips from the public.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Muskegon Heights Police Department at 231-733-8900, the Michigan State Police Rockford Post at 616-866-4411 or Muskegon County Silent Observer at 231-72-CRIME.
