Man holding girlfriend hostage in GR
Police have surrounded a house as they try to get a man -- who is holding his on-again-off-again girlfriend against her will -- to surrender.
It began around 5:30 a.m. Friday at a residence in the 700 block of Garfield Avenue NW in Grand Rapids.
The man has a knife, police said.
Authorities are starting to close streets in the area.
